HSN / SAC Rate Finder
Enter an HSN code (goods) or SAC code (services) to see its current GST rate under GST 2.0.
What are HSN and SAC codes?
HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) codes classify goods, and SAC (Services Accounting Code) codes classify services. They tell the GST system which rate and rules apply to what you sell. Service codes start with 99.
How many digits must you report?
Under the HSN reporting rules for GSTR-1, taxpayers with aggregate turnover up to ₹5 crore report 4-digit HSN codes, and those above ₹5 crore report 6-digit codes. Using more digits than required is allowed. Confirm the current requirement on the GST portal, because notifications change.
How this finder works
Type a code and the finder matches it by its 4-digit heading, or by its chapter when there is no exact heading, and shows the rate commonly applied. The rates are editable defaults, not tax advice: some entries depend on the value of the item or on how it is described, so verify against the live CBIC schedule before you file.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I find the HSN code for my product?

- What is the difference between HSN and SAC?
- HSN codes are for goods and SAC codes are for services. SAC codes begin with 99, for example 998311 for management consulting services.
- Is the GST rate shown here official?
- No. It is a reference built from commonly applied rates under GST 2.0. Always confirm the rate on the official CBIC or GST portal before you use it on an invoice or return.
